I describe myself as someone who loves life. Don’t get me wrong, life has a way of taking some very wrong turns now and again, but the Giver of Life daily walks with me and renews my zest for Him and the abundant life found only in Him. My husband, Hank Akin, keeps me laughing and grounded. My amazing children and their spouses keep me humble and my beautiful grandchildren give me hope and inspiration. And what household would be complete without a pet (or two)–we have two pugs.
I’m retired but not retiring. This is my time to explore new things–things I or my loved ones find of interest. I enjoy jewelry making, playing the piano or organ, baking, reading, gardening and puzzles. My husband and I love auctions and junk/yard sales. We enjoy the opportunities to travel and explore God’s world. We thoroughly enjoy this wonderful, abundant life God has given us. I’m most grateful for Christian friends who join and encourage us in this stage of life’s journey.
My dad was a pastor and an amazing teacher of the Word. Most of all, he was an imitator of God and instilled a great love of my heavenly Father deep into my heart and soul at an early age. Following Christ is my passion. Bible study brings me great joy; there’s nothing more exciting than when the God of the Universe shows you something unique about Himself. Christian music fills my heart and home with praise and worship.
If you are looking for perfection, you might want to consider following someone else’s blog. But if you want to follow someone who is following Christ, and you can identify with and encourage me when I find I’ve fallen short, then come join me on my journey. Together let’s press on toward the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ.
